HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM IN THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA - SISTEM VISOKOG OBRAZOVANJA U REPUBLICI SRBIJI

Two types of studies differ in the higher education system in Serbia: academic studies, which are conducted in universities, faculties and high schools, and vocational studies, which take place primarily in Higher education institutions of applied studies and Academies of applied studies.

TYPES AND LEVELS OF STUDIES

First-degree studies are:

− basic academic studies- Bachelor – lasts three to four years, with 180 to 240 ESPB points,

− basic vocational studies – last three years and carry 180 ESPB points.

The second-degree studies are:

− master academic studies – lasts one to two years with 60 to 120 ESPB points,

− master's degree – lasts two years and carries at least 120 ESPB points for students who previously scored 180 ESPB points during the study,

− specialist professional studies – last one year and carry 60 ESPB points,

− specialist academic studies – last one year and carry 60 ESPB points, for students who achieved at least 300 ESPB during previous studies.

Third-degree studies are:

− PhD academic studies - they last for at least three years or a volume of 180 ESPB points.

Integrated Studies

In medical sciences (studies of medicine, dentistry and veterine) integrated studies that last six years and carry at least 360 ESPB points are organized. Pharmaceutical studies are also integrated and carry 300 ESPB points.

U sistemu visokog obrazovanja u Srbiji razlikuju se dve vrste studija: akademske studije, koje se ostvaruju na univerzitetima, fakultetima i visokim školama, i strukovne studije, koje se pre svega odvijaju na visokim školama strukovnih studija i akademijama strukovnih studija, ali i na univerzitetima.

VRSTE I NIVOI STUDIJA

Studije prvog stepena su:

− osnovne akademske studije (engl. Bachelor) – traju tri do četiri godine, sa 180 do 240 ESPB bodova,

− osnovne strukovne studije – traju tri godine i nose 180 ESPB bodova.

Studije drugog stepena su:

− master akademske studije – traju jednu do dve godine sa 60 do 120 ESPB bodova,

− master strukovne studije – traju dve godine i nose barem 120 ESPB bodova za studente koji su prethodno ostvarili 180 ESPB bodova u toku studiranja,

− specijalističke strukovne studije – traju jednu godinu i nose 60 ESPB bodova,

− specijalističke akademske studije – traju jednu godinu i nose 60 ESPB bodova, za studente koji su ostvarili barem 300 ESPB u toku prethodnih studija.

Studije trećeg stepena su:

− doktorske akademske studije (engl. PhD) i one traju najmanje tri godine ili u obimu od 180 ESPB bodova.

Integrisane studije

U medicinskim naukama (studije medicine, stomatologije i veterine) organizuju se integrisane studije koje traju šest godina i nose barem 360 ESPB bodova. Studije farmacije su takođe integrisane i nose 300 ESPB bodova.
